Local pickup & delivery zones add-on in use

What it is

In plain words.

A lot of local businesses sell to people within a few towns: they want pickup at certain times, delivery within a certain area, and a different fee for the farther ones. This add-on sets those rules at checkout instead of in a flurry of messages.

It sits on top of a store or online ordering. Customers choose pickup or delivery, see whether you serve their address, and pick a time that works.

A good fit if

  • Farms, bakeries, florists, nurseries and shops with local customers.
  • Anyone who delivers within a radius or a set of towns.
  • Businesses with set pickup days or hours.

Probably not for you if

  • You ship nationwide and never deliver or hold pickups.
  • You don't have a store or online ordering yet. This is an add-on to one of them, not a standalone tool.

We'd rather tell you so than sell you something that doesn't fit.

What you get

Exactly what's included.

Pickup windows

The days and times you take pickups, with an optional limit per window.

Local delivery zones

The towns or ZIP codes you serve, each with its own fee and minimum.

Cutoff times

A same-day cutoff, so orders after a certain hour roll to the next day.

Clear checkout messaging

Customers see right away whether you serve them and what it costs.

Order notes

A box for delivery instructions or a pickup name.

How it goes

  1. You map your area

The towns or ZIP codes you serve, and what each costs.

  2. We build the rules into checkout

Pickup windows, zone fees, minimums and cutoffs.

  3. We test with local addresses

We try addresses inside, outside and on the edge of your zones.

Why it's worth it

What it does for you.

Fewer messages

Customers see the options and fees before they order.

Fair fees by distance

The nearby customer and the far-away one pay what makes sense.

Fewer wasted trips

Minimums and zones keep a delivery worth the drive.

Predictable pickups

Windows and limits spread the work across the day.

  • The value is in the questions customers don't have to ask, and the ones you don't have to answer.

Run your own numbers

Example figures. Change them to yours.

Count the coordination. These are example numbers: change them to your own.

Use what you'd pay someone for that hour, or what the hour could earn you.

Time you get back1.7 hours a month at the rate you entered
$51

Net each month

$51

That would repay the $295 setup in about 5.8 months, and about $612 a year after that.

What this assumes

  • The time estimate is yours, not ours: change the numbers until they match your week.
  • It doesn't count the wasted drives that zone minimums prevent. That depends on your area.

The practical bits

What it takes.

What we need from you

  • The towns or ZIP codes you serve, and what you charge for each.
  • Your pickup days and hours, and any limits.
  • Your same-day cutoff time.

How long it takes

Usually about a week, once you have a store or ordering set up for it to sit on.

Timelines are typical. The dates for your project go in your proposal.

Afterwards

It's a one-time price. You own what we build, and if you ever want changes later, we quote them first.

Questions

Likely questions, answered.

Does it need a store?

Yes. It's an add-on to the Standard or Expanded store, or to online ordering.

Do you provide drivers?

No. It sets the rules for who you deliver to and what it costs. You deliver, or use a courier you choose.

Can I set a minimum order?

Yes, by zone, so a far delivery has to be worth the drive.

Can customers pick a pickup time?

Yes, from the windows you set.

Which areas can I serve?

Any you define: a few towns, a list of ZIP codes or a radius around you.

What does Local pickup & delivery zones cost?

$295 setup. The price is fixed and written into your proposal before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises. If you ask for something that isn't in the proposal, we quote that change first and nothing changes until you agree.

Do I own it?

You own what we build for you: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs on (the domain, the hosting account and any service account, such as a payment account, are opened in your name). There is no proprietary platform to be locked into and no cancellation penalty.

Can you add it to the website I already have?

Add-ons are built into a ZONA site. If you already have a site, tell us what it's built with when you get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether this can be added to it or would work better built into a new one. We'd rather say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.

How do I get started?

Use the button on this page to add it to your project, or send a message. A discovery call takes about fifteen minutes (no pitch deck), and then you get a fixed-price proposal. You'll hear back within one business day.

Is there a long-term contract?

No long-term contracts is our standing rule: care plans are month to month, and any monthly terms for an add-on go in writing in your proposal before you sign anything.
