What it is

In plain words.

If you take orders through messages, texts or a payment link and a spreadsheet, a store does the order-taking for you. Customers browse, add to a cart and pay, and you get a clean, complete order.

This is a small, focused store for up to 25 products. It lives on your own website instead of a rented storefront, applies the tax and shipping rules you give us, and takes payment through Stripe or PayPal into your own account.

A good fit if

  • Makers, artisans, farm and tack suppliers and small retailers with a focused catalog.
  • Businesses that sell today by direct message, phone or invoice.
  • Local product businesses that want a store that matches their brand, not a template.

Probably not for you if

  • You have more than about 25 products or need sizes and colors and discount codes. Look at the Expanded store.
  • You only sell services. A booking or quote tool probably fits better.

We'd rather tell you so than sell you something that doesn't fit.

A walk-through

How to add a product, change a price and handle an order.

How it goes

  1. We set up your catalog

Your products, photos, descriptions, prices and shipping details.

  2. We connect payments, tax and shipping

Stripe or PayPal in your name, and the rules you give us.

  3. We test real orders, then launch

We place test orders with you before the store goes live.

Why it's worth it

What it does for you.

Orders arrive complete

Items, address and payment, with no back-and-forth.

No marketplace taking a cut

It's your store on your site. You pay only the payment processor's fee.

You own the customer list

Buyers' details are yours to use.

It sells while you work

Orders can come in at any hour.

  • A store replaces the part of selling that is the same every time: the questions, the payment link, the address.

Run your own numbers

Net each month

$118

That would repay the $895 setup in about 7.6 months, and about $1,416 a year after that.

What this assumes

  • The time estimate is yours, not ours: change the numbers until they match your week.
  • It doesn't count the sales a store might add by being open at all hours. That depends entirely on your products and traffic.

The practical bits

What it takes.

What we need from you

  • Your products with photos, descriptions, prices and weights or sizes (for shipping).
  • Your shipping policy and rates.
  • A Stripe or PayPal account in your name (we'll help you set one up).
  • The places you collect sales tax and the rates your accountant gives you.

How long it takes

Usually two to three weeks once your products and photos are ready.

Timelines are typical. The dates for your project go in your proposal.

What the monthly fee covers

The monthly fee covers hosting the store, keeping it secure and updated, and help from the person who built it when you need a change.

Questions

Likely questions, answered.

Stripe or PayPal?

Either, or both. You choose. The money goes to your own account, and they charge their normal processing fee.

How does sales tax work?

You tell us where you collect it and at what rate (your accountant can confirm), and the store adds it at checkout. Tax rules are your accountant's territory, not ours.

Can I add and change products myself?

Yes. We'll show you how to add a product, change a price and mark something sold out.

What if I sell one-of-a-kind or limited items?

Tell us when you enquire so we set the store up that way.

What if I outgrow 25 products?

We'd quote the step up to the Expanded store.

Can customers pick up locally?

Yes: see local pickup and delivery zones.

What does Standard store cost?

$895 setup + $35/mo. The price is fixed and written into your proposal before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises. If you ask for something that isn't in the proposal, we quote that change first and nothing changes until you agree.

Do I own it?

You own what we build for you: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs on (the domain, the hosting account and any service account, such as a payment account, are opened in your name). There is no proprietary platform to be locked into and no cancellation penalty.

Can you add it to the website I already have?

Add-ons are built into a ZONA site. If you already have a site, tell us what it's built with when you get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether this can be added to it or would work better built into a new one. We'd rather say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.

How do I get started?

Use the button on this page to add it to your project, or send a message. A discovery call takes about fifteen minutes (no pitch deck), and then you get a fixed-price proposal. You'll hear back within one business day.

Is there a long-term contract?

No long-term contracts is our standing rule: care plans are month to month, and any monthly terms for an add-on go in writing in your proposal before you sign anything.
