What it is
In plain words.
Many reservation platforms charge a fee for every diner they send you, even the regulars who would have booked with you anyway. This add-on is a booking system that lives on your own website. Guests choose a date, time and party size, and you pay a flat monthly fee no matter how many tables you fill.
Guests get a text confirmation and a reminder, and can change or cancel from a link. You see the night's book on one screen, and you decide how many seats each time slot can take.
A good fit if
- Restaurants, wine rooms and bars that take reservations by phone or through a platform that charges per diner.
- Places that fill unevenly: seat limits per time slot spread the night out.
- Anyone who wants to build their own guest list.
Probably not for you if
- You only do walk-ins. A reservation system adds nothing without reservations.
- You need table-by-table floor-plan management for a large dining room. This is a booking system, not a full host-stand tool.
We'd rather tell you so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
What you get
Exactly what's included.
Online booking form
Party size, date and time, with the available slots shown live.
Seat limits per time slot
You set how many covers each window can take, so one rush doesn't swallow the dining room.
Text and email confirmations
A confirmation when they book and a reminder before they arrive.
Change and cancel links
Guests can fix their own booking, which frees the table instead of leaving a no-show.
A simple daily view
Tonight's reservations in one list, so the host stand knows what's coming.
A guest list you own
Names and contact details stay with you.
How it goes
We learn how you seat
Your hours, seating windows, party-size limits and any rules, such as a cap on large parties.
We build and test it
You try booking, changing and cancelling, from a phone and a laptop.
You go live
The booking button goes on your site, your Google profile and your menu.
Why it's worth it
What it does for you.
No per-cover fees
A flat monthly fee, whether you seat ten guests or a thousand.
Fewer no-shows
Reminders and easy cancellation turn many would-be no-shows into freed-up tables.
The phone stops interrupting service
Booking happens at 11 p.m. on a couch, not at 6 p.m. in your busiest hour.
The relationship stays yours
You have your guests' details, so you can invite them back.
- Every empty table is lost income that no fee comparison shows. Reminders and easy cancellation are where this usually earns its keep.
Run your own numbers
Example figures. Change them to yours.
Add up the fees and the phone time. These are example numbers: change them to your own.
Look at a recent invoice. Enter 0 if you pay no per-diner fee.
Use what you'd pay someone for that hour, or what the hour could earn you.
- Per-diner fees you stop paying400 diners at $1 each
- $400
- Phone time you get back3.6 hours a month
- $90
- This add-on's monthly fee
- −$25
Net each month
$465
That would repay the $450 setup in less than a month, and about $5,580 a year after that.
What this assumes
- If you pay no per-diner fee today, the saving is the phone time and the no-shows you avoid, which this calculator does not count.
The practical bits
What it takes.
What we need from you
- Your service hours and how many seats each time window can take.
- Any rules for large parties, deposits or special evenings.
- A phone number for text confirmations.
How long it takes
Usually one to two weeks once your seating rules are settled.
Timelines are typical. The dates for your project go in your proposal.
What the monthly fee covers
The monthly fee covers hosting, the text-message service that sends confirmations and reminders, and keeping the system updated and secure.
Questions
Likely questions, answered.
Can guests book large parties?
Yes, within the rules you set. Many places cap online parties at a certain size and ask bigger groups to call, so you can plan for them.
Do guests need to create an account?
No. They give a name, a phone number and an email, and that's it.
What about walk-ins?
Keep some seats out of the online book for walk-ins. You decide the split.
Can I take a deposit?
If you want to cut no-shows on busy nights we can discuss a card hold or deposit for certain dates. It isn't part of the standard setup, so ask when you enquire.
Does it work alongside online ordering?
Yes. They are separate tools on the same site. See commission-free ordering.
What does Table reservation system cost?
$450 setup + $25/mo. The price is fixed and written into your proposal before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises. If you ask for something that isn't in the proposal, we quote that change first and nothing changes until you agree.
Do I own it?
You own what we build for you: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs on (the domain, the hosting account and any service account, such as a payment account, are opened in your name). There is no proprietary platform to be locked into and no cancellation penalty.
Can you add it to the website I already have?
Add-ons are built into a ZONA site. If you already have a site, tell us what it's built with when you get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether this can be added to it or would work better built into a new one. We'd rather say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
How do I get started?
Use the button on this page to add it to your project, or send a message. A discovery call takes about fifteen minutes (no pitch deck), and then you get a fixed-price proposal. You'll hear back within one business day.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long-term contracts is our standing rule: care plans are month to month, and any monthly terms for an add-on go in writing in your proposal before you sign anything.
