How it works
Prices and sold-out items flow from your register to your website, and online orders flow back.
Read the video as text
- If your menu lives in your register and again on your website, one of them is always out of date.
- Change a price or mark an item sold out at the register, and your website follows. No one types it twice.
- Online orders flow back into the system your staff already use.
- It connects to your Square, Clover or Toast account.
What it is
In plain words.
If your menu lives in your register system and again on your website, one of them is always out of date. This add-on links your site to your point-of-sale system so a price change or a sold-out item in one place shows up in the other.
It is the glue between your register and your website, and it matters most if you also take online orders, because the two have to agree about what's on the menu.
A good fit if
- Restaurants and shops already running Square, Clover or Toast.
- Anyone who updates prices or items in more than one place today.
- Businesses taking online orders that need to land in the same system as in-store ones.
Probably not for you if
- You don't use a POS yet. Choose the system first; we're happy to talk through the options.
- Your POS is something else. Ask us: we'll tell you honestly whether it can be connected.
We'd rather tell you so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
What you get
Exactly what's included.
A connection to your POS account
Your site is linked to your Square, Clover or Toast account, using the access you grant.
Menu and price sync
Items and prices come from your POS, so the website shows what the register shows.
Availability sync
When an item is out in the POS it stops being offered online.
Orders into your system
Online orders appear where your staff already look for orders.
Testing
We run real test orders end to end before it goes live.
How it goes
You give us access
You approve a connection to your POS account. We never need your password.
We map your menu
We match your POS items to the website so every price and option lines up.
We test the whole loop
Menu change, order, kitchen, payment: checked from start to finish.
Why it's worth it
What it does for you.
One place to update
Change a price once and it is right on the register and the website.
Fewer wrong orders
No more customers ordering something you ran out of an hour ago.
Less re-typing
The hours you spend copying prices and items between systems come back.
Cleaner books
Online and in-store sales end up in the same system.
- The expensive mistake isn't the typing time. It's the order you can't fill, or the price that's wrong on a busy Saturday.
Run your own numbers
Example figures. Change them to yours.
Count the re-typing. These are example numbers: change them to your own.
Use what you'd pay someone for that hour, or what the hour could earn you.
- Time you get back3.6 hours a month at the rate you entered
- $126
Net each month
$126
That would repay the $650 setup in about 5.2 months, and about $1,512 a year after that.
What this assumes
- The time estimate is yours, not ours: change the numbers until they match your week.
- This counts time only. It leaves out the cost of an order for something you'd sold out of.
The practical bits
What it takes.
What we need from you
- Admin access to your Square, Clover or Toast account (through that company's own approval screen).
- A heads-up about any menu items that are unusual: combos, modifiers, split pricing.
How long it takes
Usually one to two weeks once we have access to your POS.
Timelines are typical. The dates for your project go in your proposal.
Afterwards
There's no monthly fee for this add-on. If the POS company changes how its connection works, we'll tell you what a fix involves before doing it.
Questions
Likely questions, answered.
Which POS systems work?
Square, Clover and Toast are the ones we build for. If you use something else, ask. We'll tell you plainly whether it can be done.
Do you need my POS password?
No. You approve the connection inside your POS account. We never ask for your password.
Will it change how my POS works?
No. Your POS stays your POS. The website reads from it and sends orders to it.
What if the POS company changes something?
Connections sometimes need maintenance when a provider updates its system. We'll tell you if that happens and what a fix would involve before anything is done.
Do I need this if I'm not taking online orders?
Not usually. It pays off when your website shows a live menu or takes orders, because that menu has to match the register.
What does POS integration cost?
$650 setup. The price is fixed and written into your proposal before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises. If you ask for something that isn't in the proposal, we quote that change first and nothing changes until you agree.
Do I own it?
You own what we build for you: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs on (the domain, the hosting account and any service account, such as a payment account, are opened in your name). There is no proprietary platform to be locked into and no cancellation penalty.
Can you add it to the website I already have?
Add-ons are built into a ZONA site. If you already have a site, tell us what it's built with when you get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether this can be added to it or would work better built into a new one. We'd rather say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
How do I get started?
Use the button on this page to add it to your project, or send a message. A discovery call takes about fifteen minutes (no pitch deck), and then you get a fixed-price proposal. You'll hear back within one business day.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long-term contracts is our standing rule: care plans are month to month, and any monthly terms for an add-on go in writing in your proposal before you sign anything.
