What it is
In plain words.
One of the first questions a customer has is whether you'll come to them. A map answers it without a phone call: they find their town, click it and see what you do there.
Behind each town on the map is its own page, so the places you serve are written down where search engines can read them. Each town links to its page, and the pages link back to your services.
A good fit if
- Trades and services that travel to customers across several towns.
- Businesses that spend time on calls from outside their area.
- Anyone who wants the towns they serve to show up clearly online.
Probably not for you if
- You serve one town only.
- You want fully written, individual city pages with local detail. Those are the additional city pages; the map links to them.
We'd rather tell you so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
What you get
Exactly what's included.
An interactive service-area map
Your towns or radius, shown clearly.
A page behind each town
Click a town and see what you do there and how to reach you.
Calls to action on every page
A way to call or request a quote.
Structured data
Markup that tells search engines the places you serve.
Links in both directions
From the map to the towns, and from the towns back to your services.
How it goes
You list the places you serve
Towns, and any that you'd rather not.
We build the map and the pages
One for each town on the list.
We link it into your site
From your home page and your service pages.
Why it's worth it
What it does for you.
Fewer out-of-area calls
Customers can see they're outside your area before they dial.
A clear answer, fast
Visitors find their town and know where they stand.
Places search engines can read
Each town you serve has a page that names it.
A nicer page to share
Link customers to their own town.
- A map helps people and search engines in the same way: it says plainly where you work.
Run your own numbers
Example figures. Change them to yours.
Count the calls you'd avoid. These are example numbers: change them to your own.
Use what you'd pay someone for that hour, or what the hour could earn you.
- Call time you get back0.8 hours a month at the rate you entered
- $28
Net each month
$28
That would repay the $295 setup in about 11 months, and about $336 a year after that.
What this assumes
- The time estimate is yours, not ours: change the numbers until they match your week.
- It doesn't count the search benefit of having a page for each town. That's real but impossible to promise.
The practical bits
What it takes.
What we need from you
- The list of towns you serve.
- A sentence or two about what you do in each, if you have it.
- Any area you want to exclude.
How long it takes
Usually one to two weeks once the list of towns is agreed.
Timelines are typical. The dates for your project go in your proposal.
Afterwards
It's a one-time price. You own what we build, and if you ever want changes later, we quote them first.
Questions
Likely questions, answered.
Does it help me show up in search?
It gives search engines a clear, written list of the places you serve. We can't promise rankings.
How many towns can it cover?
Tell us your list. We'll confirm it fits.
Can it show a radius instead of towns?
Yes. Tell us which suits your business better.
Are the town pages the same as city pages?
The map's town pages are short and factual. For longer pages written with local detail, see additional city pages.
Can I add a town later?
Yes. We can add one, or show you how.
What does Interactive service area map cost?
$295 setup. The price is fixed and written into your proposal before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises. If you ask for something that isn't in the proposal, we quote that change first and nothing changes until you agree.
Do I own it?
You own what we build for you: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs on (the domain, the hosting account and any service account, such as a payment account, are opened in your name). There is no proprietary platform to be locked into and no cancellation penalty.
Can you add it to the website I already have?
Add-ons are built into a ZONA site. If you already have a site, tell us what it's built with when you get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether this can be added to it or would work better built into a new one. We'd rather say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.
How do I get started?
Use the button on this page to add it to your project, or send a message. A discovery call takes about fifteen minutes (no pitch deck), and then you get a fixed-price proposal. You'll hear back within one business day.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long-term contracts is our standing rule: care plans are month to month, and any monthly terms for an add-on go in writing in your proposal before you sign anything.
