How it works

A customer describes the job and adds photos from their phone. You get it all in one message and decide whether to quote from it or visit.

What it is

In plain words.

A free estimate usually means a drive out, a walk around and a drive back, sometimes for a job you then don't win. Many jobs can be priced well enough from a few clear photos and some basic answers. This add-on gives customers a simple form for exactly that.

They answer a few questions about the job, add photos from their phone and send it. You get everything in one message, and you decide whether you can quote from it or whether the job really needs a visit.

A good fit if

  • Roofers, painters, fencers, landscapers, remodelers, tree and septic services and other trades that give estimates.
  • Businesses that drive long distances between jobs.
  • Anyone tired of site visits for jobs that never go anywhere.

Probably not for you if

  • Every job truly needs you on site before you can price it.
  • Your customers rarely have a phone with a camera to hand. That's unusual, but it's worth saying.

We'd rather tell you so than sell you something that doesn't fit.

What you get

Sorting by service

Different questions for different kinds of job.

How it goes

  1. You tell us what you need to see

The questions and photos that let you price a job.

  2. We build the form

Short, clear and easy on a phone.

  3. You test it with a real job

And we adjust the questions until you'd quote from the answers.

Why it's worth it

What it does for you.

Fewer wasted drives

You skip the visit for jobs you can price from photos.

Faster quotes

Customers hear from you sooner, which often wins the job.

Better information

You know the scope before you pick up the phone.

Customers like it

Many people prefer not to arrange for someone to come to the house.

  • The cheapest estimate is the one that doesn't need a truck.

Be honest: some jobs always need a visit.

That would repay the $445 setup in about a month, and about $5,040 a year after that.

What this assumes

  • It doesn't count the work you might win by quoting faster. It counts only the visits you'd skip.

The practical bits

What it takes.

What we need from you

  • The questions you'd ask on a site visit.
  • The kinds of photo that let you price the work.
  • Where you want requests sent.

How long it takes

Usually one to two weeks once we know what you need to see.

Timelines are typical. The dates for your project go in your proposal.

Afterwards

It's a one-time price. You own what we build, and if you ever want changes later, we quote them first.

Questions

Likely questions, answered.

Can every job be quoted from photos?

No. Some jobs still need a visit. This helps you tell which, and often saves the trip.

Where do the photos go?

To you. You decide how long to keep them.

Does it work on a phone?

It's designed for phones first, since that's where customers take the photos.

What if the photos aren't good enough?

You can reply and ask for another angle, or book a visit. The form asks for the useful shots up front.

Can the form give a price?

That's the custom quote and estimate builder. They pair well.

What does Photo estimate request cost?

$445 setup. The price is fixed and written into your proposal before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises. If you ask for something that isn't in the proposal, we quote that change first and nothing changes until you agree.

Do I own it?

You own what we build for you: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs on (the domain, the hosting account and any service account, such as a payment account, are opened in your name). There is no proprietary platform to be locked into and no cancellation penalty.

Can you add it to the website I already have?

Add-ons are built into a ZONA site. If you already have a site, tell us what it's built with when you get in touch. We'll tell you honestly whether this can be added to it or would work better built into a new one. We'd rather say so than sell you something that doesn't fit.

How do I get started?

Use the button on this page to add it to your project, or send a message. A discovery call takes about fifteen minutes (no pitch deck), and then you get a fixed-price proposal. You'll hear back within one business day.

Is there a long-term contract?

No long-term contracts is our standing rule: care plans are month to month, and any monthly terms for an add-on go in writing in your proposal before you sign anything.
